Tingklik is a traditional musical instrument from Bali.
The tingklik is a Balinese traditional instrument crafted from bamboo blades. It is played by striking these blades with a special mallet known as a "tingklik pelvis." A tingklik gamelan ensemble typically comprises two instruments: the Tingklik Polos and the Tingklik Sangsih. A single basic tingklik unit consists of eleven to twenty-five bamboo blades, with the exact number depending on the musical scale being used. Musicians play the tingklik with both hands: the right hand typically performs the kotekan (melodic line), while the left hand handles the bun (rhythmic accompaniment). Sometimes, the roles are assigned with the right hand playing the sangsih (elaborating part) and the left hand playing the polos (core melody).
