Allah says in the Quran:
**"And establish prayer for My remembrance." (20:14),**
**"Successful indeed are the believers, those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness." (23:1-2),**
**"And establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater." (29:45)**
From these verses, we understand that Salat should remind us of Allah, humble us, and keep us away from immorality and wrongdoing. However, the reality often differs. During prayer, we might find ourselves thinking about business, jobs, agriculture, family issues, and other daily concerns. How humble are we truly before the Almighty, the Most Honorable, the Most Dignified? Despite performing five daily prayers, many Muslims engage in acts considered immoral and unjust in Islam, such as usury, lying, cursing, and backbiting. Why does this happen?
Because we do not know what we are reciting during our standing, Quran recitation, prostration, bowing, and sitting in prayer!
In such a state, prayer becomes merely a ritual that we perform without understanding. **Is this the example of an educated nation?** It's crucial to know what you're reciting in prayer today.
"Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to that of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any way." [Sahih Muslim: 2678]
