FortiToken Mobile is a robust One Time Password (OTP) generator app designed for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your mobile device. This OATH-compliant application supports both event-based and time-based OTPs, providing a highly secure, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution for enhancing your authentication processes. To fully utilize FortiToken Mobile, you'll need to pair it with FortiOS, FortiAuthenticator, or FortiToken Cloud for OTP validation.
Privacy and Control
Your privacy and control over your device are paramount with FortiToken Mobile. The app does not have the capability to alter your phone settings, capture photos or videos, record or transmit audio, or access your email communications. It also cannot view your browsing history. FortiToken Mobile will only send you notifications or make changes to settings with your explicit permission. Additionally, the app cannot remotely wipe your device. The only visibility the app requires is to check your OS version for compatibility with the app version. During manual installations of FortiToken tokens, third-party tokens, or token transfers, you may need to enter sensitive information such as your email address or token seeds.
While FortiToken Mobile respects your device's settings, it requires certain permissions for operational purposes:
- Camera Access: Necessary for scanning QR codes to activate tokens easily.
- TouchID/FaceID: Used to secure the app.
- Internet Access: Required for token activation and receiving push notifications.
- "Send Feedback by Email": Automatically fills the sender field for ease of feedback submission.
- File Sharing: Allows internal sharing between apps to prepare email attachments for feedback.
- Keep Device Awake: Ensures the phone stays awake during database upgrades to prevent data corruption.
