Obsidian Entertainment has unveiled its 2025 post-launch roadmap for Avowed, accompanied by the version 1.4 update patch notes.
The fantasy RPG’s current updates and future plans were detailed today on the Obsidian official website. While the 1.4 update introduces notable additions – including an Arachnophobia mode that transforms giant spiders into harmless sphere creatures and map navigation improvements – the roadmap reveals the most exciting long-term developments.

Three major updates are planned for Avowed in 2025. The first, version 1.4, is already live featuring Xbox mouse/keyboard support, additional gold and crafting resources, gear refinements, a new party camp system, and more. For those yet to explore Eora, the summer update promises enhanced cooking and crafting mechanics, expanded NPC interactions, new weapons and armor, plus customizable map markers.
The fall update will conclude 2025 with highly anticipated features: New Game Plus and Photo Mode. This substantial content drop also introduces a fresh weapon category, in-game appearance customization, extra character presets, and more. The developers have also addressed localization requests.
"We recognize our players in Korea, Japan, and French-speaking regions," Obsidian stated. "Delivering localized versions for Korean and Japanese, along with French refinements, remains a priority. We appreciate your patience as we ensure these meet our quality standards."
Avowed launched on February 18, 2025, for PC and Xbox Series X|S, including Game Pass. For complete version 1.4 details, see the full patch notes below or click here to discover a secret side quest.
