While details about the sequel remain sparse, fans of Cyberpunk 2077 can take comfort in knowing that the game's leading star is eager to return, should the opportunity arise.
During a promotional interview for his new film Good Fortune, Keanu Reeves confirmed his interest in joining the sequel to CD Projekt's 2020 release.
When asked if he’d be open to playing the iconic rockstar terrorist Johnny Silverhand again, Reeves responded, “Absolutely. I’d love to reprise the role in Cyberpunk 2.”
Reeves first connected with the Cyberpunk community after a fan famously yelled “you’re breathtaking!” during his E3 2019 appearance to announce Cyberpunk 2077’s release date. Reeves shot back, “You’re breathtaking… you’re all breathtaking!”—creating a wholesome online moment that quickly became a lasting internet meme. The unforgettable clip is featured in the video below.
But the lingering question is: would it even be possible for Johnny Silverhand—and Keanu Reeves—to feature in Cyberpunk 2? Given the events of the original game, does Silverhand's return make narrative sense?
