According to Remedy's annual report, Control 2 has successfully advanced through the concept validation stage and entered full-scale production, marking a crucial milestone in the project's progression. This development signals the game's steady trajectory toward completion.
Alongside Control 2, two additional projects are currently in active development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Previously in the preparatory stages for production, these titles have now reached a more advanced phase. Conversely, the collaborative project Kestrel, developed alongside Tencent, has been withdrawn from the studio's roadmap. It was discontinued in May of the previous year.
These projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary Northlight engine, which has demonstrated its capabilities in games such as Alan Wake 2 and other studio titles.
Regarding budgets, Control 2 is projected to cost approximately 50 million euros. The studio will handle its self-publishing, with releases planned for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. FBC: Firebreak carries a slightly lower budget of 30 million euros and will launch on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain undisclosed in terms of budget, though it is confirmed that they will be AAA-quality games. Both development and marketing expenses are entirely covered by Rockstar Games.
