Yakuza Like a Dragon Devs, True to Their Game, Encourage Series director Ryosuke Horii shared that disagreements among team members are not just common, but actively encouraged at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. These "in-fights," he explained, are a crucial element in crafting high-quality games.

In the Automaton interview, Horii addressed the frequency of conflicts within the studio. While acknowledging their occurrence, he emphasized their constructive nature. He described the role of the planner as a mediator between, for example, conflicting designers and programmers, ensuring that arguments lead to tangible improvements. "Without arguments and discussions," Horii stated, "the final product would be mediocre. Therefore, constructive conflict is always welcome." The key, he stressed, is a productive resolution: "Fighting is pointless unless it yields a positive outcome. The planner guides the team towards that fruitful conclusion."
